Rosary admits young women with varying academic, leadership, athletic, and artistic abilities. Every effort is made to place a student in classes which best meet her interests and abilities. At Rosary, the student, her parents, faculty and counselors will work together to help the student to achieve her educational and career goals.

Preparatory and Successful: Rosary’s faculty excels at providing a thought-provoking environment that motivates our students to be actively involved in the learning process. We recognize that technology is a vital tool in today’s educational process. Rosary’s ongoing investment in technology includes a networked computer system and internet access sites throughout the building. Students who seek the challenge of college level courses can earn 20+ semester hours of college credit in courses offered on Rosary’s campus.

ACT Scores: Rosary High School’s Class of 2011 had an average ACT composite score of 25.6

The 2011 Illinois state average ACT composite score was 20.9

Catherine of Siena Scholars: Rosary High School’s highest academic award is to be named a Catherine of Siena Scholar. This designation replaces the traditional valedictorian and salutatorian titles. Students must meet several requirements to be awarded this honor.


The requirements for the Class of 2012 are as follows:

  • A four-year course of study has been taken in at least two of the following subject areas: fine arts, foreign language, mathematics, or science.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.80, and a minimum of 12 Honors courses over a four-year period.
  • A strong attendance record; that is, a scholar may not have more than the maximum number of absences for any reason- excluding documented illness. (The Administration reserves the right to make exceptions for extraordinary circumstances.)
  • A strong service record - Students who regularly (more then one time) fail to submit service hours on or before deadlines will not be eligible for this honor.

Candidates for the Catherine of Siena Scholar Award will be confirmed at the end of the third quarter of their senior year.
